Organization Types

Organization interaction rules are determined by the Organization Type which is defined when the an organization is created.

These rules control the visibility of organizations, data products and users.

Organization types are organization groupings and any of the following can be set for an organization type:

  • Visible to organizations of another type.

  • Not visible to organizations of another type.

  • Visible to other organizations within its own type.

Groups of users may be impacted if the type of the organization to which they belong is changed 

Visibility and interactions are reduced

  • Fewer data products may be visible on the exchange (depending on the data product visibility setting).

  • Fewer collaborators are visible to collaborate within Spaces.

  • Subscriptions to previously visible data products remain but the data products present as hidden and are inaccessible.

  • Spaces containing a previously visible data are locked and the data products are unavailable.

  • Collaborators who were previously part of a publish team or Space are removed.

  • Exports and repeating exports of a previously remain but the data product that is being exported is hidden and the the Export is disabled.

  • Access to engineered products using a previously visible data product is removed.

Visibility and interactions are increased

  • More data products may be visible on the exchange (depending on the data product visibility setting).

  • More collaborators may be visible to collaborate within Spaces.
